Rifugio Del Grande - Camerini

The CAI Mario Del Grande - Remo Camerini Refuge, located in the high Valmalenco above Chiareggio, is a small and cozy mountain hut. The original structure consisted of a single room with a loft accommodating four beds. Over time, the refuge has been expanded, and now includes a kitchen where delicious cakes and various hot dishes are prepared daily by our caretakers. There is also a bivouac with four beds that is accessible even in winter when the refuge is closed. In front, there is a small terrace with tables, from which the view, stretching across the entire Valmalenco, is dominated by the majestic North Face of Monte Disgrazia. The Del Grande - Camerini refuge has 10 beds and is open during the summer months (June-September), managed by volunteers who take turns weekly and are eager to welcome hikers with a delicious plate of tagliatelle with venison sauce or a good slice of cake with hot tea. Due to the ongoing health emergency, overnight stays inside the refuge are not possible until further notice.
