On this moderately long stage with a descent-only elevation change, the Sentiero Italia descends to the valley floor of Valgrisenche. Starting from the Rifugio Chalet de l’Epée, the trail heads northward downhill, continuing parallel to the artificial lake of Beauregard, passing through several pastures before reaching the village of Valgrisenche where the carriage road is encountered. From there, the trail follows the river course along the valley through numerous hamlets until reaching the village of Planaval, where overnight accommodation is available.
