A moderately long stage with significant elevation gain that leads back up to the slopes of Mount Etna. From Randazzo, heading south, the first slopes towards the summit craters are tackled. After crossing the boundaries of the Etna Park, the old trail at a thousand meters is followed, continuing upward at the foot of Monte Piluso and Monte Spagnolo. Subsequently, the Maletto Forest is crossed, passing near the mountain of the same name and the Grotta delle Vanette, before reaching the Monte Scavo Forest Shelter for overnight stay.
