The route begins in the village of Temù and continues until the last houses, where the mule path to Villa d’Allegno is taken. After visiting this hamlet, one descends to Ponte di Legno along a farm road closed to traffic, which leads directly to the center in just over 1 km. Climbing back up the main street, one proceeds alongside the houses along the Oglio River, crossing it at Zoanno, where the road merges into the state road of Passo Gavia. On the dirt road that begins here on the left bank of the Oglio, the Alta Via Camuna starts, connecting with the Sentiero Italia Lombardo coming from the Garibaldi refuge through the Avio Valley and Valsozzine. Following the dirt road to its end, the path continues on a steep trail that reaches the white road known as La Tonalina, which runs along the hillside towards the Valle di Viso. This path is followed until the signs for the Alta Via Camuna guide you right onto an uphill track. The journey continues on an easy military mule path, eventually ascending to the Bozzi refuge after a long traverse above 2000 meters. Near the refuge, a visit to the Museum of the White War is highly recommended.
