SI N01

Just after entering the Marche region, specifically in the Ascoli province, we will start with a long stage characterized by significant elevation gain. From the village of San Martino (790 m), we quickly gain altitude, reaching the ridge of San Paolo below the Montecalvo fortress (960 m). From here, we follow the ridge for the entire ascent, passing under Colle dell'Araglione (1092 m) and Monte Libretti (1,216 m). We continue uphill, reaching Fonte della Scentella (1,220 m), Colle Pidocchi (1,469 m), Monte Cesarotta (1,800 m), and Cima Fonteguidone (1,863 m), before soon arriving at the Terminus of Macera della Morte (2,022 m). From this point onward, the ridge section we traverse towards the northwest descends until reaching Passo del Chino (1,581 m). We proceed west through the forest until we reach the white road (1,290 m), turn east for 400 meters, leave the white road, and continue along the trail heading southwest, ultimately reaching the village of Colle d'Arquata (983 m).
