From Rif. Buzzoni, hike up to Passo Gandazzo, then take trail 101 which, passing by Passo del Toro, leads to Rifugio Grassi (1987 m). From here, you follow the southern slopes of the summit of Camisolo and traverse the panoramic ridge of Pian delle Parole until you reach Bocchetta Alta (2235 m). To your left, you will leave the equipped trail "del Caminetto" (which leads to the summit of Pizzo dei Tre Signori) and instead cross the southern foothills of Pizzo dei Tre Signori on a level path known as the “Sentiero dei Solivi.” Upon reaching the valley of Inferno, you will descend sharply into the valley bottom until you intersect with trail 106 and the stream, then climb back up on the opposite slope via an evident gully to its summit. Continuing east, you will traverse the ridge of Giarolo until reaching the summit of Giarolo (2314 m), then descend towards Bocca di Trona (2224 m). Veering onto the Brembana side, you will quickly cross the next notch (Bocchetta di Val Pianella 2212 m) located between the western summit of Piazzotti (summit of Val Pianella) and a more modest peak belonging to the Pizzo di Giacomo group. Finally, by cutting across the steep grassy slopes, you will arrive at the panoramic rocky ledge that hosts Rifugio Benigni (2222 m). Throughout the entire route, you may encounter groups of ibex, and the panorama is dominated by Monte Disgrazia and the jagged peaks of Val Masino. In the background, the Bernina group peeks through. This stage closely follows the Sentiero delle Orobie occidentali.
