Hiking
The stage begins by retracing the paved avenue taken when arriving from Orosei, until reaching the start of Iscala Omines, which we will leave on our left to continue towards the old tunnel built in 1863 to connect the village to the sea (currently there is the settlement of Cala Gonone). After passing through the tunnel, we reach the ridge of the mountain overlooking the SS 125 and follow a scenic path heading south-southwest until we reach the area of Suttaterra, close to a very distinctive natural arch. A subsequent steep section allows us to reach the SS 125 (Orientale Sarda) below, which we travel for about 550 meters. Leaving the state road, near the entrance of the Forest Station 'Sa Pruna', we continue downhill, first on an unpaved road and then on a well-maintained path, to reach and ford the Flumineddu river near the path to the Gorroppu gorge. Continuing north and passing the diversion for the S'Abba Arva bridge, we easily arrive at the stopover location of Surtana. Water supply is available within the Forest Station, at a spring along the route. It is worth noting the lack of stable accommodation facilities at the stopover in Surtana. It is recommended to arrange logistical support in advance with Mr. Salvatore Fancello, well-known Baddore, at 3470086640, who owns an accommodation facility located about 800 meters from Surtana. Additionally, great care is advised in the short stretch of SS 125, which is heavily trafficked, especially in spring and summer, by groups of motorcyclists.
