Hiking
From the Lambertenghi refuge, the CAI 144 trail descends towards Collina until it meets the CAI 143 trail near the Tolazzi Refuge. Continuing east along this trail, you will reach a wide bend where you leave the road to take a well-marked medium-sloped path on the right that quickly returns (at an altitude of 1625 m) to the dirt road at the beginning of the Casera Morareet pastures. Just before reaching the Casera, which we keep on our right, we climb along the pasture, first following the right and then the left side of the Rio Morareet (at an altitude of 1900 m). The path now becomes steeper. After crossing the aqueduct, with wide bends carved into the clayey terrain, you will reach the Forcella Morareet and then the Marinelli Refuge (at an altitude of 2111 m). Descend along a wide dirt mule path following trail 148 until the saddle (at an altitude of 1868 m), where you leave the road to follow trail 146 that passes above the Casera Monumenz and reaches a cave known as “La Scaletta” and the rocky band above it. This section includes some short equipment. We descend into the Collinetta valley, which we traverse with ups and downs until we are near the Monte Croce Carnico pass. Here we head towards the Austrian border to take a downward path on the right, marked in yellow as trail 434 “Klaine Pal-Mg Nase.” We pass alongside the historical museum of the Great War and then, with fairly steep turns equipped with steps, we reach near the summit of Pal Piccolo (at an altitude of 1866 m). You will find ample evidence dating back to the First World War.
