Hiking
You head northwest parallel to the Adriatic coast on a long hike with a moderate but notable elevation gain. From Melfi, after a short descent, you climb to the summit of Monte Perrone, then proceed towards the ridge that borders the Valle dell'Ofanto. After following the ridge, you descend to the Ofanto River, which you cross near the train station of Rocchetta Sant'Antonio – Lacedonia. Another climb takes you to the top of a rise marked by wind turbines from where you reach Candela.
