SI P09

A rather long stage with a significant elevation gain that takes you back up into the Gran Sasso National Park. From Ofena, heading east, you ascend to the village of Castelvecchio Calvisio on the opposite side of the famous Rocca di Calascio. Climbing through the valley that rises towards the peaks of Mount Cofanello and Mount Selva, you gradually gain altitude until around 1100 meters, where you turn and reach the village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio.
