Hiking
From Pasturo, we descend into the valley before rising again towards Barzio. Here, just outside the parking area of the Barzio-Piani di Bobbio cable car on the right, there is a mule track and a bulletin board with information about the local refuges, including a sign with phone numbers and whether the Buzzoni refuge is open. We set off on the mule track and shortly after, where there is a small chapel featuring a fresco of the Holy Family and a fountain, a sign points left to the Rifugio Buzzoni - trail 19. We continue left along a flat dirt road with beautiful views of Valsassina until we reach the Nava huts, then we enter the woods and continue on trail 19, initially with a gentle ascent and then with a steeper slope. The first part of the trail involves several ups and downs, with some chains securing the path, and crossings over streams on small bridges, but the passage remains easy. We then come to a fork where a post indicates Alpe Piancagianni, Rifugio Buzzoni in 1 hour 20 minutes. We proceed straight, nearly level, and then start ascending to the Baita Piancagianni, which has now become a ruin. Here we begin to climb among the beech trees, alternating flat sections with steeper ones until we zigzag along the trail that will lead us to Alpe Tee, where in front of a ruin, a post indicates left for trail 25 that rises from Introbio and right to Rifugio Buzzoni in 40 minutes. We thus continue right, entering a forest of beeches and birches. We first travel a section with ups and downs and then begin climbing again through a beech forest, crossing small streams as we ascend in a zigzag until we reach Alpe Mota, where a post indicates Rifugio Grassi in 2 hours, Piani di Bobbio in 45 minutes. We have arrived at Rifugio Buzzoni.
