Hiking
With this medium-length stage and a decent elevation gain, we leave the Aosta Valley mountains to return to the Piedmont region, still within the valleys originating from the Monte Rosa massif. Starting from Gressoney Saint Jean, we head down to the hamlet of Ondro Verdebio, where we take a steep path that ascends through tight bends toward the east. Between the lower and upper Cialfrezzo pastures, the slopes ease slightly, but soon we resume the ascent to the Colle di Valdobbia at an altitude of 2480 meters. From here, a long descent leads past the Sasselli dell’Asina and continues toward the bottom of the Val Vogna, merging with stage E46 near the Napoleon Bridge (1530). From there, we proceed to the Rifugio Sant’Antonio.
