Another stage of medium length with significant elevation gain that runs parallel to the Swiss border towards the northern tip of Piedmont and the Val Formazza. From Alpe Devero, you reach the hamlet of Crampiolo and continue along the artificial lake of Codelago, at the end of which the real ascent begins. You pass by the bivouac Alpe Forno and traverse the steeper slopes leading to Scatta Minoia at an altitude of 2599 meters. A steep descent leads to Lake Vannino, along which you follow the western side until reaching the dam and the Rifugio Margaroli, located at the head of Val Vannino and at the foot of Punta dell’Arbola.
