Hiking
A medium-length stage with notable elevation drop, where the Sentiero Italia descends into the Valle Antrona and reaches its head near the artificial lake of Alpe dei Cavalli. From the Alpe, a steep descent leads to the Antrona valley floor, which is partially followed along the provincial road and partially along the trail until reaching the village of Antrona Schieranco. The route continues along the valley floor, now ascending, on trails that cut across the hairpin bends of the road until reaching Alpe Cheggio, where the Rifugio Città di Novara is located.
