Portella delle Fate

N/A
The Portella delle Fate is a B&B located in Sora, in the province of Frosinone. The establishment is born from a passion that started, grew, and has been cultivated over time for the Anglo-Saxon countries. In these countries, the culture of family hospitality, seen as a valid alternative to the classic hotel, has been deeply rooted for quite some time. During numerous trips over the years, the managers have sought to truly embrace this concept and faithfully recreate it (even in details such as the decor), allowing guests to experience a blend of a charming and unique place along with an environment equipped with every comfort. The legend The B&B is situated in a beautiful fully renovated building from 1913. It stands right on Piazza Cesare Baronio (also called Ortara), precisely in the historic center of Sora, where for ages the local market for vegetables, greens, and typical products has taken place. This is the famous neighborhood of "Canceglie," where there were gates that provided access to the old city. A local legend tells of a small door in the ancient city walls of Sora, where it was possible to spot elves and fairies (hence the name Portella delle Fate). These spirits are part of the tradition, initially associated with the worship of the domestic hearth and ancestors, later considered the protectors of the home. One in particular, known as the Babbaceglie: a sensitive and vengeful sprite, delighted in playing tricks on people, but always had a kind heart, which he freely showed to children and maidens.
