The Battisti Refuge, owned by the CAI section of Reggio Emilia, is a stone building built in 1970 and expanded in 2007, located in Lama Lite in the municipality of Ventasso (RE), at an altitude of about 1760 meters above sea level. It is served by the forest road connecting Civago to Ligonchio, which can only be used as a service road. Access to the refuge is exclusively pedestrian and bicycle-friendly for regular visitors who take the numerous trails that ascend from Febbio, Civago, Ligonchio, Passo delle Forbici, Passo di Pradarena, and from Tuscany, including Casone di Profecchia and the La Foce Refuge. The Battisti Refuge is a stop on the Alta Via dei Parchi, the Spallanzani Trail, and the Garfagnana Trekking route. It has 46 beds and 2 rooms for the accommodation of the managers. The refuge is equipped with 3 internal restroom facilities. There are two dining rooms: one in the historical section, with a capacity of about 35 seats, and a second in the expanded section, with a capacity of about 30 seats. The supply of drinking water is ensured by two springs. The electricity supply is provided by a photovoltaic system and a generator. The refuge has a telephone with a radio bridge powered by a solar panel. The arrangement of the two building sections and their orientation also allow for the use of the outdoor courtyard area for summer reception and dining activities. The refuge is equipped with two webcams and a weather station. Additionally, it has a winter room with 8 beds, located in an area adjacent to the historical building. The refuge has a website and a Facebook page (Rifugio Battisti-Ligonchio), and is continuously managed during the summer (June-September) and on weekends throughout the rest of the year. The managers are Emanuele Braglia, Costanza Fontana, and Enrico Bronzoni.
