Rifugio Ferioli

N/A
The CAI Ferioli Refuge is located in Alagna Valsesia, in the province of Vercelli. The refuge, owned by the CAI of Olgiate Olona, is a beautiful stone and wood chalet perfectly integrated with the surrounding environment. Set on the moraine below Colle Mud, it boasts a stunning terrace overlooking the valley, with a view of Alagna. The refuge has the unique feature of being entirely managed by the section's members, who take turns during the summer period. Additionally, it is part of the international “Via Alpina” blue route. It has 24 beds, and during the off-season, the winter room is accessible. Brief history of the Refuge: In the autumn of 1979, two huts above the municipality of Alagna Valsesia were purchased by the section of the Italian Alpine Club of Olgiate Olona to become the Ferioli Refuge. The work began that same summer and was completed by the members who, during weekends and summer vacations, took on roles as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and ... “sherpas” because any materials or tools needed for the work had to be carried “on their backs.” Seasons passed, and on July 17, 1983, it was finally inaugurated!!! Over the years, continuous maintenance and improvement work has transformed it into what, for the members, is “Our Refuge.” How to reach the refuge: From Alagna Valsesia (1190 m) follow trail no. 208 (8) from Rima S. Giuseppe (1411 m) following trail no. 296 (96). Possible itineraries from the Refuge: Colle Mud, 2324 m; Corno Mud, 2802 m - 1 hour; Monte Tagliaferro north face, 2964 m - 4 hours; Belvedere on Monte Rosa, 2456 m - 30 min.
