The Eugenio Margaroli Refuge is located near Lake Vannino, at the homonymous Alpe. Nestled in the heart of the Lepontine Alps, Lake Vannino lies peacefully with its deep blue waters, typical of high-altitude places. During the summer season, it offers countless shades of color, while in winter its surface transforms into a thick layer of ice and snow, allowing for crossing. The different seasons provide such diverse landscapes that evoke always new emotions. In spring, green timidly finds its space among the patches of snow, creating incredible contrasts. Then, as the months go by, carpets of flowers frame the Vannino Valley. Eagles, chamois, ibex, marmots, ermines, and foxes live peacefully in our mountains. The luckiest (and quietest) visitors might encounter them, some more easily than others, some only with a keen eye, and others only if they wish to be seen!
