From the Calvi hut, ascend to the Sesis pass (CAI 132) and then descend into the upper Fleons valley (CAI 140). After a stretch in the valley bottom, you'll reach the lower Fleons hut. At altitude, the trail (CAI 403) leads to the Sissanis di Sotto Hut, and then you ascend the Sissanis valley. You will skirt a small lake at altitude, pass between Quota Pascoli and Creta di Bordaglia to reach the Giramondo Pass, which marks the border with Austria. On the Austrian route no. 403, you descend with numerous bends, navigating around the northern walls of the Volaia Mountains, and then regain altitude to reach the wide plateau of the Obere Volayer Alpe. You ascend to the Volaia lake via a dirt road, then follow a path that runs alongside it to reach the Volaia Pass and shortly thereafter (CAI 144), the Lambertenghi hut. Please note that the Lambertenghi Romanin hut is permanently closed. Overnight stay at the Austrian Wolayerseehütte or descend to the Tolazzi hut.
