From Rif. Fabiani (trail 448), the route ascends to the Lodin Alta hut and the saddle between Monte Lodin and the Val di Puartis valley. After traversing the latter, the trail follows its eastern ridge and stays close to it until it connects with a dirt road leading to the Valberetad Alta hut. Here (trail 449), it joins a wider forest road that climbs to a saddle before descending to the asphalted road (at the Monument). From this road, one can reach the Cason di Lanza pass.
