From Topolò, take path 746, first passing through meadows and then through dense broadleaf forests and chestnut trees, until we reach the village of Lase. The trail then becomes steeper, leading us through the meadows to the summit of Mount Nagnoj. We now follow the state border with Slovenia, which, with its continuous ups and downs, takes us along the lengthy ridge of the Colovrat mountain range. There are significant military defense works dating back to World War I. The view is uniquely beautiful, stretching north over the majestic peaks of the Julian Alps and south over the Adriatic coast from Trieste to Venice. From the last peak of the range, Mount Klabuk, we descend first along a path and then on a road to the Solarie refuge.
