In Gradisca, we enter the bridge over the Isonzo River, and right after that, the trail 070 begins. We are in the Isontino Karst, with all its beauty and stories of wars. The path leads us to the village of Sdraussina, which we cross to go beyond the railway and into a forest. In the area of San Martino del Carso, we continue on trail 072, which alternates between wooded sections and open grasslands, leading us to the village of Marcottini. We continue until we reach the junction with trail 077. We take this last one, which quickly brings us to the Gradina Visitor Center, offering wide scenic views of the nearby Lake Doberdò.
