From Gradina, we take trail 077 towards Casa Cadorna. Here we reconnect with trail 072, which leads us down to Lake Doberdò, allowing us to circumnavigate it and move under the slopes of Mount Cosici. The path then ascends to Mount Debeli and Mount Arupacupa. From here, we descend to the settlement of Jamiano. Now, taking trail 003, we traverse long stretches of karst landscape. The trail leads us through the settlement of Medeazza and continues through areas with remnants of Austro-Hungarian fortifications from World War I. We pass on the north side of Mount Ermada and shortly after Mount Sambuco, we leave trail 003 to take trail 031, which quickly leads us to Malchina. We cross Malchina to reach the stopover point.
