SI B01

This is the connecting stage between Trentino and Veneto, between the upper Val di Fassa and the upper Val de Livinallongo; it crosses the Padon mountain range, a volcanic island between the Dolomitic groups of Marmolada and Sella. From the hotel Rifugio Ettore Castiglioni at Fedaia (2055 m), the steep trail 698 ascends through the pastures of Val de Fedaia until reaching the notch of Porta Vescovo (2478 m), where the upper station of the cable car connecting to Arabba is located. There is a spectacular view of the northern face of Marmolada with its glacier. From Porta Vescovo, one can reach Passo Padon via trail 680, which, along with the Geological Trail of Arabba, traverses the southern slope of the Padon range at mid-altitude. From here, you connect with the Veneto section of the Sentiero Italia.
