Hiking
The route ascends along trail 108 on the left side of the Rabbi Valley. It begins at Bagni di Rabbi near the church (m 1222), passing through the village of Piazzola, the group of houses at Cavalar, and the nearby parking area (m 1478). The trail intersects and follows the forest road to Malga Paludè (or Caldesa) Bassa (m 1826), runs past the malga, and continues toward Malga Paludè (or Caldesa) Alta, which it leaves on the right. Now out of the forest, it proceeds along the open grassy ridge. Upon reaching the junction with trail 135 (m 2373), you can decide whether to take a detour of about 10 minutes to reach the Stella Alpina Refuge at Lake Corvo and the nearby Passo di Rabbi (m 2459 – which marks the geographical boundary between the Cevedale group and the Maddalene chain) or to turn right immediately and follow through the pastures and morainic terraces south of Cima Quaira (Karspitz) to cross the Passo Palù (m 2414), the watershed between the Val di Rabbi and Val di Bresimo. We now follow Trail 133 “Aldo Bonacossa,” descending through the pastures to Malga Bordolona di sopra (m 2088), which offers agritourism services.
