From Fondo, you ascend via road to the village of Malosco (1038 m), which offers views over the Val di Non and the Brenta Dolomites. Next, you take trail 508 to the small plateau of Regole di Malosco (1315 m). This is followed by a flat stretch through meadows on a dirt road leading to the locality of La Fornas (1302 m). After a brief ascent, a long traverse on a path through a dense coniferous forest leads to Passo della Mendola (1363 m) with its numerous hotels. After passing the upper station of the funicular coming from Caldaro, you take route 500, which we will follow now to the Romeno alpine hut (1773 m), passing by the Genzianella and Mezzavia huts along the way. Via trail 560, you can cross over in 20 minutes to the panoramic terrace facing the Val d’Adige, where you will find the Oltradige hut.
