On this short stage with a significant elevation gain, we return to the high-altitude terrain at the foot of the Sciliar, a spur of the Catinaccio/Rosengarten massif. From San Cipriano, we reach the village of Weisslahnbad/Lavina Bianca, where we take the path that ascends towards Barenfalle/Sella Casaccia at 2019 meters above sea level. After a very brief descent to cross the Rio Sciliar, the ascent resumes until we reach the Bolzano Refuge in Sciliar, located in the heart of the namesake massif.
