Another short stage with minimal elevation gain that leads from Sciliar and Catinaccio/Rosengarten towards Sasso Piatto, another iconic peak of the Dolomites located on the watershed between Val di Fassa and Val Gardena. From Rifugio Alpe di Tires, you descend to Passo Duron/Malknechtjoch at an altitude of 2204 meters, where a series of ups and downs begins along the ridge that separates the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano. You pass through the pass of Sella Palacia/Christjoch and reach Rifugio del Sassopiatto. Before you stands the peak with its altitude of 2969 meters.
