Hiking
A fairly long stage with ups and downs but spectacular at the foot of the Sassolungo and Sasso Piatto, leading into the Alta Val Gardena, in the heart of the Ladin valleys. From the Sasso Piatto refuge, trail no. 527 with its ups and downs through beautiful meadows and with views of the Alpe di Siusi takes you to just below the Vicenza refuge. Here begins trail no. 526, which leads to the Comici refuge beneath the imposing north face of Sassolungo. The final stretch is a descent via trails 21/a and 21, leading to the village of Selva Gardena. We are in the Ladin valleys, which radiate out from the Sella massif, where a language, Ladin, of Rhaeto-Romanic origin is spoken.
