From Frasnedo, take the trail that climbs along the valley, reaching the Passo di Primalpia after passing the Bivacco Primlpia. From there, the descent begins, which, after passing the Spluga lakes, leads towards Cevo. Just before the settlement of Cevo, a bridge allows you to cross the valley. About 50 meters before entering this bridge, the trail presents a fork: one direction leads to Cevo, the other, unmarked, leads to Cataeggio. Therefore, you take this section, which is characterized by a very clear path marked with faded white and red signs. The trail initially proceeds gently, then climbs sharply to overcome a landslide. After crossing a small valley, the trail arrives at Cornolo, near a fountain. Here, the trail gives way to a paved road; you walk along it, passing by a ruined chapel. The route continues downhill, and as soon as you cross a bridge, a staircase on the left leads to a path in the woods. You follow this path and soon reach Cataeggio, reconnecting with the original route of the Sentiero Italia.
