On this moderately long stage with a medium elevation gain, you leave the serene Val Viola to reach the touristy Livigno Valley. From the Federico refuge in Dosde', a brief ascent leads to the Val Viola Refuge, nestled by the shore of some tranquil lakes. After leaving the Viola Refuge, you take the descending trail that follows the left hydrographic side of the valley, skirting around Lake Val Viola and passing by several alpine pastures until you reach the Minestra Stream. Here, you turn north and ascend to the Passo delle Mine at an altitude of 2804 meters. From this point, a long descent begins towards the Tresenda Fraction of Livigno, where you follow the contour path that traces the valley on the right hydrographic side until you reach the town of Livigno.
