Hiking
On this stage, which is short and has a gentle elevation change, we cross the watershed of the Ligurian Alps, passing through the most prominent elevations of this mountain area. From Pian Rosso, following a rolling path and bypassing the spring of the Vene on a trail that circles high above it, we reach the Tetti delle Donzelle, above the hamlet of Carnino, where the real ascent towards the Passo delle Saline begins. We are in the territory of the Marguareis Natural Park and in the Terra Brigasca, where a very unique dialect is spoken, influenced by the historical administrative ties with the Val Roja. The ascent winds along the slopes of the Cima delle Saline before descending through stunning karst landscapes to the Havis de Giorgio Refuge – Mondovì.
