A long stage with a considerable elevation gain, it crosses the Marguareis Park to finally reach the ski area of Limone Piemonte - Riserva Bianca. From the Garelli Refuge, the trail leads towards the Marguareis Lakes in the eponymous valley, continuing downhill until the junction that leads to Colle del Prel. After reaching this point, the nearby Passo del Duca is also visited. From this location, one can admire the characteristic Conca delle Carsene, where we enter to arrive at the depression of Gias dell’Ortica (a pasture). The route continues by the Rocche della Fascia until reaching the Morgantini Scientific Cabin, located near the Colla Piana di Malaberga. After passing this point, the journey continues towards Colle della Boaria. Here, the former military road Monesi-Colle di Tenda, also known as the Via del Sale, is encountered, and a path is taken that, following ridges, traces the watershed with the Valle Roja, alongside the aforementioned road, leading to Colle di Tenda. This section, predominantly on a ridge and mostly in French territory, offers remarkable views of the surrounding valleys and allows for the observation of a significant number of fortifications. Descending from the pass via the Vallone di San Lorenzo, in front of the Rocca dell’Abisso, one quickly reaches the village of Limonetto.
