Hiking
With this short but significant elevation stage, we move from the Vallone di Bellino to the main branch of Val Varaita, getting closer to Monviso, which has been visible for many days to those who have traveled the Sentiero Italia. We start from the main town of Bellino and ascend on the opposite slope from where we arrived the previous day. Initially, the trail crosses several hamlets before entering a wilder environment, at the foot of Monte Ferra, up to the Colletto della Battagliola at an altitude of 2248 meters above sea level. From here, a steep descent begins towards Pontechianale, situated on the edge of the artificial Lake Castello, where there is a GTA stopover for overnight stays.
