Hiking
This stage is very short in linear distance but features a significant elevation gain (approximately 1200 meters) as it climbs exclusively along the steep slopes of Monte Rocciamelone, which overlooks the city of Susa, 3000 meters higher. Considering the relatively short duration of the walk, one can take the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Susa, with its Roman ruins. The remains of an amphitheater and the aqueduct can still be seen, along with the perfectly preserved Arch of Augustus. According to some reconstructions, Hannibal may have passed through here after crossing Col Clapier with his elephants. The Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art is also worth a visit. Following is the footpath along a very steep trail through the woods.
