Hiking
Leaving behind the Rifugio Il Truc, you enter a shady larch forest, where a relatively easy path leads you to an elevation of 1850, just below Grangia Vottero. You continue east on a rolling track until you exit the woods onto the dirt road that leads to Alpe Costa Rossa (1940 m); follow this road and, with a short climb, reach a notable turn north. Continuing again in the woods, you descend to a narrow bend that crosses the Rio Rocciamelone. At this point, the dirt trail turns southeast and, again climbing, ends near Alpe Arcella (2000 m). From here, the path follows the GTA and S.I. signs, reaching and surpassing a short wooded section, and finally, with a steady ascent, arrives at the fork for Rifugio Ca d’Asti. You take the right path (northeast) and, after a brief but intense climb, arrive at a panoramic traverse that allows you to enjoy an interesting view of the below medium Valle di Susa. After reaching the private refuge Aurelio Ravetto, you finally arrive at the Colle della Croce di Ferro at an altitude of 2658 m, overlooking the high Valle di Viù. You continue with a gentle descent, partly on a paved road, heading down towards the Malciaussia lake basin. Continuing from Pietramorta along the road beside the lake, you arrive at Rifugio Vulpot.
