Another medium-length stage with significant elevation gain that leads from the Val d'Ala di Stura to the last of the Valli di Lanzo: the Val Grande di Lanzo. Starting from Balme, one descends towards the valley along the carriage road that passes through Chialambertetto, entering the GTA trail just before the hamlet of Molera. The hike takes place beneath the imposing Uja di Mondrone, also nicknamed the Matterhorn of the Valli di Lanzo. The trail climbs decisively towards the Colle del Trione (2486 m), surpassing some mountain pastures and the Vasuero Lake. From the pass, one descends along a wild slope, passing by the Laghi del Trione and crossing through pastures and woods until reaching the village of Griscavallo, from where one continues to the hamlet of Pialpetta.
