A moderately long stage with significant elevation gain that crosses a very wild portion of the mountain, leading the Sentiero Italia through the Vallone di Ribordone, a side valley of Valle dell’Orco. From San Lorenzo, the trail ascends north before sharply turning east towards Alpe la Colla, where the first descent of the day begins towards the artificial lake of Eugio, which, along with the hydroelectric basins of Telessio and Valsoera, converges at the Rosone hydroelectric power station. From the lake, the ascent resumes until reaching the summit of Monte Arzola, from which a descent leads down to the town of Talosio. The route is located within the Gran Paradiso National Park, the oldest in Italy.
