A medium-length stage with modest elevation gain, but featuring an exposed section of trail equipped with safety chains and another quite slippery in case of dampness. After ascending to the Bocchetta delle Oche beneath Monte Marzo, you enter Val Chiusella, the last small hidden green paradise before the Dora Baltea Valley. This is followed by a long descent down to the Borgata di Fondo, where you can find your stop at the Trattoria del Ponte. From here, the trail climbs back up towards the borgata of Succinto and the Piani di Cappia, a panoramic balcony overlooking the head of Valchiusella. From the Piani di Cappia, you take the Sentiero delle Anime, marked by evocative rock engravings, until you reach Rifugio Piazza.
