A short stage with an intermediate elevation gain that leads the Sentiero Italia to overlook the Ossola area, on the heights above the plain between Gravellona Toce and Domodossola. Starting from the village of Campello Monti, the trail ascends towards Colle dell’Usciolo at 2,037 meters above sea level. From here, it descends to Lake Ravinello and continues to Bivacco Pian Lago (of the Municipality of Pieve Vergonte). From this point, the path proceeds initially with a slight ascent and then descends through Passo Lago, reaching Alpe del Lago, where the (unmanaged) C.A.I. Macugnaga refuge is located.
