This moderately long stage, marked by a completely descending elevation, traverses the Segnara Valley, a side valley of the Anzasca Valley, until reaching Molini di Calasca, where the endpoint is located. From Alpe del Lago – Refuge (Unmanned) Amedeo Pirozzini, the trail descends through some nearly abandoned alpine pastures and dense forests until it reaches the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Gurva, dedicated to Our Lady of Graces due to the miraculous events surrounding its origin. It is also known as the Sanctuary of the Assumption, as the biggest celebration held here is on August 15th. You find yourself in the valley that connects the Toce River with Macugnaga (Anzasca), nestled at the foot of the spectacular eastern face of Monte Rosa. This stage is characterized by the absence of phone signals, and due to the tall grass, caution is advised regarding ticks during the summer season.
