Another medium-length stage with a moderate elevation gain that leads to a plateau area at the head of the Val Bognanco. From Alpe Cheggio, you reach the artificial basin of Lago Alpe dei Cavalli, which you follow before tackling the slopes of Passo della Preia. The ascent takes place in a landscape that transitions from wooded areas to high-altitude meadows dotted with alpine pastures. From the pass, a short descent leads to Alpe Preia and then into a basin that you traverse at mid-slope until reaching Rifugio Alpe Laghetto.
