With a short route and limited elevation gain, you will cross some truly isolated and wild slopes along the border between Ossola and Switzerland. From the bivouac, you traverse the underlying valley at mid-height towards the east, heading for Lago Gelato, where a final steep ascent leads to the Bocchetta del Lago Gelato at an altitude of 2434 meters above sea level. The descent leads to the Rifugio Bonasson at 1947 meters above sea level, which stands on a consistently isolated and wild slope in the Municipality of Santa Maria Maggiore, in the mountainous area above Val Vigezzo.
