The final stage in the Piedmont region features a downhill elevation, and, except for some brief ascents, it concludes on the shores of Lake Maggiore. From Falmenta, we reach the bottom of the Val Cannobina, which we follow along half the slopes facing south until the entrance of Cannobio. In the area of Sant'Anna, a short detour to visit the Orrido di Sant'Anna, carved by the Cannobino river between the rocky cliffs that close the valley before it flows into Lake Maggiore, is definitely worth it.
