Attualmente non è presente segnaletica SICAI. Seguire quella delle AV1 e AV2. In periodo tardo primaverile inizio estate, prestare attenzione ai versanti esposti a NORD che potrebbero presentare ancora neve e quindi potenzialemente pericolosi.

An intermediate stage with a moderate elevation change that runs along the slope of the Val Ferret, facing the Dente del Gigante and the Grandes Jorasses looming on the opposite side. From Courmayeur, the path starts with steep switchbacks that gain the ridge where the Rifugio Bertone stands, just below 2000 meters in altitude. From here, the exposure changes, overlooking the Val Ferret and following its contour until a turn with several hairpin bends leads to the Rifugio Bonatti, which offers an excellent view of the Freboudze glacier and the Bivacco Gervasutti.
