A short stage but with a significant elevation gain that crosses the watershed towards the Val d'Ayas. From Valtournenche, you ascend the first densely forested slopes heading east until reaching the beautiful village of Promindoz. Continuing uphill, you arrive at the charming alpine pasture of Cheneil, where the forests end and pastures begin. The trail continues upward along the slopes towards the shoulder of Becca Trecarè, passing by the Col des Fontaines at an altitude of 2696 meters. With a traverse under the south face of Becca Trecarè and a climb up to Col di Nana, you gain a breathtaking viewpoint over Monte Rosa. The short descent on the opposite side leads to Alpe Tournalin Superiore, where the eponymous refuge stands.
