Continuing into Ligurian territory, the Sentiero Italia features a stage of medium length and elevation gain that follows the scenic watershed between the Val Tanaro and the Albenga coastline. From the Colle di San Bernardo di Garessio, you ascend by passing through the Bocchino delle Meraviglie, then veering south towards the Passo delle Caranche at an altitude of 1411 meters. This is followed by a steep ascent to the summit of Monte Fuetto at 1531 meters above sea level, continuing uphill to reach 1798 meters at Monte Galero. For the first time since the Colle di Cadibona, you climb above 1500 meters before descending to the Colle del Prione. After one last ascent and subsequent descent, you arrive at Colle San Bartolomeo.
