The route coincides with the CAI 20A-GEA path, which starts at the junction with path 20 in the village of Caprese Michelangelo. Following the S.P.47, it descends to the village of Lama, partly on asphalt and partly through the woods. Next to the church of the village, a dirt road begins to ascend and reconnects to the asphalt for Fragaiolo. Continuing along the road, after passing Fragaiolo, a dirt trail leads through beautiful ancient chestnut trees and then beeches, climbing through an area rich in picturesque spots until it intersects with path 50-GEA at a saddle. At this point, one turns right (left would lead towards Alpe di Catenaia) and reaches the Eremo della Casella, a structure that is always open, built in the 1500s in honor of Saint Francis by the inhabitants of Sovaggio, which can be used as a shelter. After passing the Eremo, the ridge trail continues down towards Monte Foresto, the Croce della Malcima, the Croce del Varco, Poggio dell'Abete, and Poggio Assunzione, from where both the village of Chiusi della Verna and its Sanctuary can be seen. The descent is quite steep before quickly ascending the bridge over the Rassina stream and joining the S.P.54, which is followed for a short distance downhill until a small road to the right leads up to Chiusi della Verna, exiting at the little square near the Fonte Campari. Steps lead up the old road on the right of the provincial road, and one emerges at Doccione, where crossing the S.P.208 near a wall, the 051 path junction is found, marking the end of our route.
