The route coincides with the CAI 50-GEA trail and begins at the junction with trail 051, climbing along the slope until reaching the paved road coming from Beccia (l'Ansilice), which is followed uphill to quickly reach the entrance of the Sanctuary of La Verna. The Sanctuary is circled, and the path continues until reaching a parking area and a refreshment spot. After the parking lot, take a left onto the old road that runs alongside Monte Penna, reaching the junction with trail 061 and continuing always on the left until Croce della Calla. The path continues uphill to Monte Calvano through grassy areas, then begins to descend, intersecting with a dirt road on the left that leads to Passo delle Pratelle, then to Monte Castelsavino and Passo delle Gualanciole. Shortly after, a mule track is taken that climbs the ridge to arrive at Poggio Tre Vescovi, where the 50-GEA trail ends. From here, turn left and traverse the entire ridge of Alpe di Serra via the 00-GEA trail, passing through Buca del Tesoro, Rotta dei Cavalli, Montalto, Punta dell'Altuccia, and Passo Serra (accessible by turning right at the junction with trail 59 with a small detour of about 15 minutes), Monte Zuccherodante, and finally Passo dei Mandrioli.
