The trail of the Sentiero Italia continues along the ridgeline of the Apennines between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, featuring an intermediate stage with a moderate elevation gain. Starting from the Passo del Giogo di Scarperia, you reach the summit of Giogo di Roncolombello and continue towards Monte Castel Guercino. From here, you turn west and ascend Mount Faggio all’Ombrellino at an altitude of 1125 meters before descending to the Passo dell’Osteria Bruciata and climbing back up to Monte Gazzaro. From there, it's a descent to the Passo della Futa.
